What is happening in my life
Posted by Ana Lucia at 9:46 am in Ana's Musings...

Changing subjects, I already purchased my plane tickets to go to New Zealand at Easter time and I cant wait!

More amazing days together with my husband and doing everything that we love to do together.

Plus, I just love New Zealand and I am so luck that the LOVE of my life is a kiwi :)

We had an amazing time together here. We didnt take pictures (I will make sure we take pictures next time together in NZ), but we should when we went to the Botanical Gardens, for instance. Nevermind. Next time.

Also, I started practing ashtanga yoga in a place called Nirvana.

I am liking – I am not loving it. I am happy that I am practing it because makes me feel very good and I can tell how good it does to the body. Those poses have been performed since a century or more by people in India and its gotta be something powerful.

The yoga style I am practicing is called Ashtanga Mysore and Mysore is known as the Asthanga yoga capital of India.

Ashtanga yoga has been taught there by the revered guru Sri Krishna Pattabhi Jois   since the 1930′s.

Ashtanga yoga involves putting the body through a progressive series of postures while synchronizing the breath. The process produces intense internal heat and profuse sweating, which detoxifies muscles and organs. I sweat  a LOT!! I sweat much much more than when I do 3 hours of power walking in the summer!! No kidding!!!

Its HELL having to wake up at 5:50 AM to get ready to yoga class. Plus having to leave my husband online and run to class.

But one thing that keeps me going is that I cant wait to be able to perform the difficult advanced moves! ps: these pictures are Shiva Rea´s, the beautiful goddess of yoga

How do you live a life of abundance on less?
Posted by Ana Lucia at 9:34 am in Ana's Musings...

I have been a bit upset with myself for not writing as much as I should.

I know its a question of establishing priorities, focusing on what is really important, etc…

The truth is I have a couple of bad habits, which sabotage me every day, if I don’t pay attention.

And I now know a couple of little things that might help living my life. From now until I die.

The thing is: lighten up your life. Get to love what you have. Buy only what you need. Your life will be sooo much better!

Easier said than done.

Many of us feel that buying stuff will makes us happy, will give us comfort, etc.. But NOT. NO.

Another thing: buying unnecessary stuff equals loads of clutter equals carrying weight inside of you. The clutter you bring to your life will be brought to the inside of you.

And the way to set yourself free from this vicious circle is learning to focus on what is important and stop filling yourself and your space with things or food you get because you are trying to fill an emotional void.

I know we live in a world full of advertisements and such strong powerful messages to consume. Point is: all these crap have been brainwashing us into believing that buying makes us feel good.

So: set priorities and learn the differences between needs versus wants and entitlements.

The thing is, learning to live on less is actually freeing and empowering and, once it becomes a habit, you will never want to spend recklessly again.

One word: DETACHMENT. This one I need to practice. Really. Not easy, but I need it in order to honour the real blessings in my life.

Clearing out your environment beautifies, detoxifies and brings loads of energy to your life.

IMPORTANT: MY HUSBAND GAVE ME AN AMAZON KINDLE WHICH IS THE MOST AMAZING DEVICE AND HELPS A LOT!!!!

That’s because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the books and now I can purchase them without cluttering my shelves :) Awesome, my tiger! Thanks, kisses, snuggles and caresses ;)

I am writing about this subject – which I am loving – because at the very beginning of this years, I cleared to top of my wardrobe and got rid of LOADS of stuff. Gosh, the feeling is amazing! From there I am totally into this mindset and I recommend this to everybody.

Readers, please forgive me if I sound contrary to what I wrote above. What I mean is that I love the books and I will buy them (and books cant be considered clutter, can they??!), but the kindle keeps it all :) Yayyy!!

To finish the post, I would like to recommend a couple of books really good on the subject:

Lighten Up

Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?

Peter Walsh is classic! The guy is and expert. He had many appearences at Ophra´s show helping helpless people get on track.

Road Trip Guide to the Soul

The author, Sadie Nardini, is a yoga teacher. She makes a very interesting comparison between an actual travel and life. The books goes through contents like: “How to Fill Up with Soul Fuel and Keep from Driving on Empty”, “Drop What´s Weighing You Down and Lighten Up” and “Deciding Who Gets a Ride and Who eats Your Dust”.  Unfortunately, its not avaliable in Kindle format. But this one is pretty awesome :)

Lighten Up!: The Authentic and Fun Way to Lose Your Weight and Your Worries

Life Is Short, Wear Your Party Pants

Loretta LaRoche is fun. She is very accurate and simple.

The first book is a great read and motivational to anyone wanting to shed excess weight and who has decided to take a lighter, more humorous approach to it. The secondis a book about making the choice to live an extraordinary life. It is about showing appreciation, giving more hugs and being more forgiving. Loretta explores a variety of beliefs and shows how stress is a signal to change your life.

The Guru in You: A Personalized Program for Rejuvenating Your Body and Soul

This one goes on through the yoga principles of modaration, non-violence and telling the truth. The book consists of four parts: Part One: The Path consists of  The Material World and  Setting Your Intention.  Part Two: The Foundation consists of  The Practice of Nonviolence (kindness toward ourselves and others),  The Practice of Detachment (Allowing what nature intends for us), and  Letting Go of Excess (Knowing when enough is enough).  Part Three: Expression consists of  Posture Practice and the Pursuit of Inner Beauty,  The Breath, Living the Ayurveda Way, and  Practices for Building Awareness.

PS: dear readers, if you´d like to purchase any of these books, click on the images and that will lead you directly to Amazon.com website and you will help us. Thank you! :)
