Challenges of life
Posted by Ana Lucia at 1:31 pm in Ana's Musings...

Here I am, at home.

Its Tuesday and a holiday here, in Brazil. Its almost twenty minutes past nine PM.

My husband is online with me, but he is about to go back to work.

Quite cold here….

I´m home alone. Not used to be home alone so it feels a bit scary (mind you, Im 43 years old).

My father is at the hospital with my brother, who has some problems which the doctors dont know exactly what. They want to keep my brother at the hospital for a series with exams.

Its just my father and I to help my brother. Its just the 3 of us here, since my husband is in New Zealand.

Looks like my brother will saty in the hospital until Friday.

My cousin Regina called and offered help. It was really nice of her.

And this is probably the way life should be.

Today is being an interesting day for me.

Woke up and heard my brother telling my father he was feeling bad and that he was going to the hospital. My father went too.

These “hospital” “disease” thing devastate me more than many things in life.

Dont like death. Had the most terrible rock-bottom moment of my life when my mother died.

So I did almost 4 hours of workout.

The good side of the story is that I am dealing with all the fear and stress much much far much better than I would be dealing not too long ago.

I used to stuff my face with food everytime some stressful or uncomfortable situation came up. Because I felt week.

Im not week. I am strong. I am stronger than many people I know.

Have to go to work tomorrow, so hopefuly I will be able to have a good sleepind night.

Simplify your life
Posted by Ana Lucia at 2:48 pm in Ana's Musings...

Hello readers!

The idea is this: simplify your life and you´ll feel happier.

Too true.

I think that, the more information we have access to, the more complex we become.

This is very paradoxal as the loads of technology and speed was suposed to make our lives lighter but, instead, people are becoming more neurotic, fatter, sick, anxious and depressed. Our houses are filled with clutter.

What do you really, I mean REALLY  want in your life? What are your priorities?

The first step is to identify what is really important for you, so that you creat a start point and something to focus on. From there, try to eliminate everything else.

Easier said than done. The media offers us so many irresistable options and we feel like we cant miss anything (and the shop sales season are so dangerous….).

Take a deep breath.

Bear in mind that the process of simplifying your life is like a filosophy of life. You have to pratice it. And this is so important because when you get rid of things  you dont really “need”, its more likely that you will live your TRUE SELF.

Also, in the process of simplifying your life, just keep on learning and making mistakes. But do it. Don’t judge yourself harshly in the process.

As you make your life more simply you will realize that you will feel free, lighter. Your will have more clarity in your mind and you will even find time for things you always wanted to do but never had time. You will be able to chill out! Refresh your life.

Write a list or a jornal and be honest with yourself.

And always remember that people (and animals, as in pets) are more important than things.

I will take the opportunity to recommend you a VERY VERY GOOD book and I think its the best book I own:

“Chill Out & Get Healthy” is an amazing book by Aimee Raupp. She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of New York and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology.

More about the book below:

Aimee’s book, Chill Out And Get Healthy! is a practical guide for women who long to live healthfully, maintain their sanity, age gracefully and prevent disease amidst the chaos of today’s world. It explores how to nourish body and soul, decrease general anxiety, manage overwhelming stressors, maintain and improve fertility factors, and fight the perils of aging.

Chill Out And Get Healthy! gives women the knowledge and tools that they need to better manage their health today and prevent future disease.”

Anyway, I wish you can simplify your life as I really want to simplify mine.

If you have any thoughts about the subject or any tips, please, post your comment.

And if you would like to purshase the book at Amazon.com, you can do it by clicking in the image above.

Bless you all. xoxoxo

Snoopy the cat
Posted by Ana Lucia at 2:27 pm in Ana's Musings...

Hi everyone.

This is soo cute!

My husband´s neighbour adopted a little cat called Amber.

Anyway, before my husband and I knew she had an owner, we thought she was a “he” and also a stray cat. So we named he “Snoopy Doggy Dog” :)

Recently my husband realized that Amber lives next door.

During the 2 weeks I spent in New Zealand, in September, the little cat would wonder around our place, but she wouldnt let me pet her.

Well, the lady who adopted her had to go to the hospital so Snoopy felt a bit lonely and decided to become friends with my husband.

Not only she let Cameron pet her, but she tried to come inside our Little House.

What happens is that, one afternoon, my husband found her inside the bathroom!

Also, Cam decided to leave the front door opened in the evening and Snoppy got inside the lounge for a pet and attention. So cute!!!!

Thank you, my husband. You have the biggest heart. Im sure you made a big difference in this little cat´s life!

So, Cam got a refound and ordered another one which succesfuly was delivered to him.

Also, my Kindle can speak! It reads audio books!!! AMAZING!!!

You are the LOVE of my life, Cam. You mean the Universe to me!!!!

If you’re thinking about buying a Kindle, then please click on the Kindle Picture below. That link will take you to Amazon.com It won’t cost you any more to buy through Amazon, but it does give us a little money because you’ve given Amazon our affiliation number. Wonderful amazing days with my husband
Posted by Ana Lucia at 12:28 am in Ana's Musings...

Just arrived from New Zealand.

I spend wonderful amazing days together with my beloved husband.

Every time we meet, its even better and we love each other so much, and its magical.

I am the luckiest woman in the Universe! I love my husband so much! He menas everything to me. He is my soulmate. Forever.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to get three seats for myself on the plane from Santiago to Auckland, so I was able to get some rest. The first flight was really crowded (lots of people from Sao Paulo going to spend the week in Chile). I arrived at Auckland Airport in time and my beloved sleepy husband was there waiting for me. Such a wonderful moment.

We went to the supermarket and than to the very nice hotel where we usually stay (Quest on Nelson).

First day we had a good walking around Queen St, Parnell and Newmarket, which gave us such good exercise. And we had delicious paninis for lunch!! Sooooo yummy!!

And we got addicted to paninis! :)

On the second morning, as it was raining a lot and we didnt want to spend the whole day at the malls, we decided to drive up North, to our place in Whangarei.

Cam arranged to transfer the night we had already booked at the hotel to the night before I was coming back to Brazil.

It was raining, but the driving was really good! Cam took me to different cities (which I dont remember the name) and took our time driving.

Again, we had very nice paninis for lunch at a cafe.

I felt so happy to arrive in our Little House. Cam cleaned and organized everything in our place. It was looking so nice, comfortable and cozy for us.

I met Soopy Doggy Dog (Amber, the neighbor´s cat)! She´s a lovely kitty cat.

My husband had to work, and I would follow him to the factory and ready in the kitchen. But we also had time for walkings and going to the Library.

We found two very nice shops: a sushi shop and a decoration one. We had sushi twice for lunch and was very good.

We also had two absolutely LOVELY celebrations: we went to the new Israely reataurant to celebrate our Anniversary and had burekas and a combination of hummus and other delicacies. And we went o Bogart´s to celebrate 6 years since we meet for the first time and that we are together. Delicious pizzas, garlic bread and tomato juice.

On the first Saturday, we drove to Keri Keri and, although it was rainy and could, we had a very nice morning. Had a very nice lunch at New World´s bakery! And spent the rest of the Saturday at our place, very together.

What can I say… Every moment was amazing. So wonderful being close to my darling forever husband. Walking holding hands and waking up by his side. Doing everything together.

My husband bought a Kindle for me!!!!!! Yayyyy!!!!!!

The first Kindle he bought was stolen….. But my husband got a refound from Amazon.

Well, last night I woke up at 2:30AM and, to my comfort, my husband was online, so we were talking all the time and my Kindle arrived!!!! He sorted out all the settings and downloadings! And also included many books. I have a whole Library of more than 500 books! And my Kindle can speak!!!

Thank you, my beloved husband. You are the LOVE of my life!

Well…. time to go to work now….

I feel so much better to start my day now that I wrote this post :)

Brazilian shoes
Posted by Ana Lucia at 1:35 pm in Ana's Musings..., Girlie stuff

Hey, female readers

This post is for you.

I thought I´d share with you pictures of amazing Brazilian plastic shoe brand called Melissa.

And I am NOT advertising!!! I just love love these plastic shoes. They are sooo cute and last forever. You just wash them when needed and, besides, those shoes would survive any Tsunami :)

I was having a look at ther website www.lojamelissa.com.br and love the Jean Paul Gautier high heel sandals. They are so sexy and so beautiful :) and sooo expensive…:(

The orange one is my favorite!! It looks like Summer. Très chick!!!! I was walking by one of Melissa shops when I was coming home from work and had a look. The vendor was telling me that the sandals are out of stock! She also mentioned that the foreign tourists buy loads of them!!!

There are other really pretty ones which are much more affordable:

Anyway…. enough about shoes ..ai, ai, ai…… Wish I´d win some money in the Lotery…..

Another beautiful thing I´m dreaming of is the new M.A.C. Collection called “To The Beach”:

Oh, sooo gorgeous!! I bet all the girls in the USA, Canada and Europe are having lots of fun buying the products!!!!

Its cold here!!!!
Posted by Ana Lucia at 12:47 pm in Ana's Musings...

Its soooo cold! Its been quite cold here, in Rio, which is absolutely unusual. Its not really bad, specially because I´vs got gumboots and I need to use them :) But its not good either.

I just feel like staying under the blanckets and do nothing. Cold makes me want to eat more as well… Makes me feel like not doing my workout. Just get in the hot shower when I get home from work and eat lots of junkie afterwards. Cold weather makes me dream of hot chocolate mugs and croissants or scones baked right from the oven…… yum yum yum…..

I miss the warm weather, the sunny days. Suddenly I miss the 40ºC summer heat and I imagine Cam and I walking around the streets here, sweating like crazy and searching for a bit of shadow. And I imagine us going to the beach and jumping in the sea and having fun.

Always feel a little down at Sunday Evenings… Another working week starting. Speaking about work, I did some ajustments and hopefuly things will be a it better.

Now, let me change subjects before I feel like vomiting! ARGHHHHH!!!

I had a good weekend. Went to see the Aunties yesterday for lunch (as usually) and they served me pastries. We had a good talk and they didnt mention Vera´s kids. I think they finally realise they are not my thing and if I am going there to visit them I dont feel like talking about Vera´s kids. Anything would be a more interesting subject to talk about: like the economic world crisis, or Naomi Campbell´s scandall for instance :)

Oh! And I finished a very good book:

But the real HIGHLIGHT is that in less than 1 month I will start my holidays and will be together with my husband. I need him to give me LOADS of tiger hugs, kisses and caresses!!!!!! I love you, honey!!

Anyway, time runs fast! Its almost 9 PM already.

Working Monday tomorrow…. Wish me luck!
